The species vanduzeei and others of the same group tend to exhibit wide degrees of variation in color of abdomen, legs and antennae. Their recognition and relationship may be readily confirmed by an examination of the structure and armature of proccesses of fifth abdominal sternum in male, of which those in vanduzeei are typical. The palpi in vanduzeei are invariably reddish or yellowish, whereas in haemorrhoa and the european form versicolor (Meigen) they are fuscous.

Pegomya versicolor adolah langau dari famili Anthomyiidae. Spesies ko juo marupokan bagian dari ordo Diptera, kelas Insecta, filum Arthropoda, dan kingdom Animalia.

Istilah "Anthomyiidae", nan baarati "langau bungo", barasal dari kato Yunani anthos, "bungo", dan myia, "langau".

Pegomya versicolor este o specie de muște din genul Pegomya, familia Anthomyiidae. A fost descrisă pentru prima dată de Johann Wilhelm Meigen în anul 1826. Conform Catalogue of Life specia Pegomya versicolor nu are subspecii cunoscute.
