The male of marginata may be distinguished by the pronounced lamellate fold extending from inner margin of processes mesad and by the accompanying series of slender setulae from base to apex. This type of process is also present in the european species strigipes (Zetterstedt). The female of marginata has the palpi enlarged and flattened, cruciate bristles absent, caudal pair of ocellar bristles short and directed forward, and m-cu cross vein erect. The scutellum is entirely blackish in both sexes.

Pegomya holosteae adolah langau dari famili Anthomyiidae. Spesies ko juo marupokan bagian dari ordo Diptera, kelas Insecta, filum Arthropoda, dan kingdom Animalia.

Istilah "Anthomyiidae", nan baarati "langau bungo", barasal dari kato Yunani anthos, "bungo", dan myia, "langau".

Pegomya holosteae este o specie de muște din genul Pegomya, familia Anthomyiidae. A fost descrisă pentru prima dată de Erich Martin Hering în anul 1924. Conform Catalogue of Life specia Pegomya holosteae nu are subspecii cunoscute.
