Distribucion en Costa Rica:
Distribucion General: Mexico (Veracruz) to Panama.

Feeding habits unknown, but females probably feed on the blood of mammals.

Immature stages unknown.

Hind tibiae without apical spurs; basicosta with strong setae as dense as those on the adjoining costa; vestiges of ocelli present; third antennal segment with at most an acute dorsobasal angle; tibiae not inflated; frontoclypeus and genae not bare and shiny; frontal callus present; labella unsclerotized; eyes bare; legs with all tibiae at least one-third white basally; wings glass clear; antennae yellowish brown, the apical flagellomeres much longer that the basal flagellomere; entire insect, with the exception of the notopleural lobes, blackish in ground color, gray tomentose; all abdominal tergites usually with some white hairs, more extensive on the second and fourth tergites (females) or thorax and abdomen hoary gray tomentose and white pilose (males).

Lalek kudo dewasa mahisok nektar dan kadang-kadang sarbuak sari. Betino dari kabanyakan spesies adolah anautojenik, nan artinyo butuah mahisok darah sabalun mampu untuak bareproduksi sacaro efektif. Telua dilatakkan di ateh batu atau vegetasi biasonyo balansuang dakek jo aia misalnyo kolam ranang.
