Hind tibiae without apical spurs; basicosta with strong setae as dense as those on the adjoining costa; vertex without a tubercle; scutellum with a large velvety black spot at the base; wing with a long spur on the fork of veins R4 and R5; cell r5 of the wing rarely closed, never petiolate, crossveins and the fork of veins R4 and R5 without clouds; mid abdominal pale triangles equilateral or higher than wide, the posterior borders of the tergites without pale hairs.

Lalek kudo dewasa mahisok nektar dan kadang-kadang sarbuak sari. Betino dari kabanyakan spesies adolah anautojenik, nan artinyo butuah mahisok darah sabalun mampu untuak bareproduksi sacaro efektif. Telua dilatakkan di ateh batu atau vegetasi biasonyo balansuang dakek jo aia misalnyo kolam ranang.
