Uredinia chiefiy hypophyllous, scattered, or confluent on brownish spots, often arranged in circles, round, oval or crescent-shaped, rather small, 0.1-0.6 mm. in diameter, early naked by irregular breaking of the epidermis, pulverulent, cinnamon-brown, ruptured epidermis prominent; urediniospores broadly ellipsoid or globoid, 19-26 by 24-30 m; wall dark goldenor cinnamon-brown, variable in thickness, 1.5-3 /*, rather sparsely and strongly echmu-
late, the pores 2, equatorial.
