Pileus convex, becoming plane, thick, fleshy, solitary, reaching 8 cm. broad; surface dry, smooth, glabrous, avellaneous, margin entire, concolorous, inflexed on drying; lamellae slightly sinuate varying to adnate, close, narrow, arcuate, purewhite changing to yellowish on drying; spores ellipsoid, smooth, hyaline, about 6X3 ju; stipe much enlarged at the base, rather short, fleshy, solid, white, smooth, slightly scabrous above, about 7 cm. long and 2 cm. thick, reaching. 4 cm. thick at the base.
Type locality: Seattle, Washington.
Habitat: In sandy soil mixed with humus in woods and on decayed wood.
Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
