type locality of Lomatium ravenii, vouchered by my #21208; plants in all 5 populations visited on this date on the floor of the Madeline Plains were vegetative and did not appear that they would flower in 2012
topotype (vouchered by my #21233); the leaf bases of previous years growth form a shawl covering the stem crown, which in this view is the white, bulbous structure surmounting the root; the stem crown in this plant shows 'annual' rings (this plant had 21 rings); the leaf bases of the current year's growth are light brown. The stem crown is shoot, in this acaulescent taxon, the only aerial shoot.
