Growing to 30 metres tall, it is commonly known as the Small-leaved Tamarind, referring to Diploglottis australis - 'Native Tamarind', and they are not related to the true Tamarind Tamarindus indica at all! But, Tamarind like Tamarind, it has an edible sour fruit, and stone inside. And, actually, "Large-fruited Tamarind" would be more appropriate name for it than "Small-leaved Tamarind". I really like the taste and it deserves to be more popular in Australia cultivation. See photo of fruits:
