Casimiroa pubescens Ramirez, Anal. Inst. Med Nac. 2 : 19. 1896. A small tree about 2 m. in height, with pubescent branchlets ; petioles thick, 2-3 cm. long, enlarged at the base, pubescent ; leaves digitately 3-foliolate ; lateral leaflets ovateoblong to oval, almost always unequal, the petiolules 4-5 mm. long, the terminal leaflet larger, 5.5-6.5 cm. long, 2-2.5 cm. broad ; all subcoriaceous, entire, the margin slightly recurved, ciliate, velvety-pubescent beneath, the upper surface pubescent, especially on the nerves, the apex rounded or somewhat truncate or emarginate, the base cuneiform ; drupe depressed-globose, 4 cm. in diameter, 2.5 cm. high, velvety-woolly, its pulp white.
