Janusia californica Benth. Bot. Voy. Sulph. 8. 1844 Stem and branches pale-pubescent; leaf-blades ovate to oval, 1.5-4 cm. long, mucronate, thinly pubescent on both sides, truncate or subcordate at the base, short-petioled ; sepals oblong-ovate, about 2 mm. long, the glands less than one half the length of the sepal-body; petals larger than those otj. gracilis, the larger ones 5-6 mm. long; samaras 9-11 mm. long.
Type locality : Bay of Magdalena, Lower California. Distribution : Lower California.
