Description: Stegastes leucostictus (Müller & Troschel in Schomburgk, 1848) - juvenile beaugregory above a dead queen conch shell. The beaugregory is a variety of damselfish. Juveniles are brightly colored with blue, yellow, and near-black. Adults are brownish-colored. This individual displayed territorial defensive behavior when the old, eroded queen conch shell (Strombus gigas) was approached.
