Description: Stegastes leucostictus (Müller & Troschel in Schomburgk, 1848) - juvenile beaugregory above a dead queen conch shell. The beaugregory is a variety of damselfish. Juveniles are brightly colored with blue, yellow, and near-black. Adults are brownish-colored. This individual displayed territorial defensive behavior when the old, eroded queen conch shell (Strombus gigas) was approached. Classification: Animalia, Chordata, Vertebrata, Actinopterygii, Perciformes, Pomacentridae Locality: just west of North Point Peninsula, eastern Graham's Harbour, northeastern San Salvador Island, eastern Bahamas.
