Diaphus impostor, the imposter lanternfish, is a species of lanternfish found in the Western Central Pacific Ocean.^[1][2]

Etymology

The epithet impostor refers to the resemblance of this species to, and the possibility of confusion with, D. aliciae.^[3]

Diaphus impostor is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van lantaarnvissen (Myctophidae).^[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1995 door Nafpaktitis, Robertson & Paxton.

野眶灯鱼（学名：Diaphus impostor）为輻鰭魚綱燈籠魚目灯笼鱼科的其中一種，分布於中西太平洋區，包括印尼及澳洲海域，屬深海魚類，棲息深度可達0-140公尺。
