أولينغو

Olingos (genus Bassaricyon) are small to medium-sized (0.7 to 2 kg) procyonids (i.e., members of the raccoon family) found in Central America and northern South America. They are primarily forest-living, arboreal, nocturnal, frugivorous, and solitary, and have one young at a time. Helgen et al. (2013) reviewed the systematics and biogeography of Bassaricyon and recognized four olingo species: a Central American species (B. gabbii), two lowland species with cis-Andean (eastern side of the Andes, B. alleni) and trans-Andean (western side of the Andes, B. medius) distributions, and a newly recognized species, the Olinguito (B. neblina), that is apparently endemic to cloud forests of Colombia and Ecuador in the northern Andes.
