Craugastor omoaensis is a species of frog in the family Craugastoridae. It is endemic to Honduras and also is one of 13 species of amphibians and reptiles that are endemic to the Sierra de Omoa. It is known from only 24 specimens studied. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, rivers, and intermittent rivers.
In a 2004 assessment, The International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) categorised the frog as Critically Endangered on the Red List after meeting the criteria set out by the 1996 IUCN Red List of Threatened Animals. since 1996 there has been an almost complete disappearance of the frog; the causes being attributed to habitat loss and chytridiomycosis. Its habit (as of 2004) measured 100km2 and it is possible the species is now extinct.

Cette espèce est endémique du département de Cortés au Honduras[1]. Elle se rencontre dans la Sierra de Omoa, entre 760 et 1 150 m d'altitude.

Craugastor omoaensis is een kikker uit de familie Craugastoridae. De soort werd voor het eerst wetenschappelijk beschreven door James Randall McCranie en Larry David Wilson in 1997. Oorspronkelijk werd de wetenschappelijke naam Eleutherodactylus omoaensis gebruikt.[2]
De soort komt voor in delen van Midden-Amerika en leeft endemisch in Sierra de Omoa in Honduras.[3] De soortaanduiding omoaensis betekent vrij vertaald 'wonend in Omoa', en slaat op het verspreidingsgebied.
Craugastor omoaensis wordt bedreigd door het verlies van habitat en door chytridiomycose, een besmettelijke ziekte die veroorzaakt wordt door de gistachtige schimmel Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis. Sinds 1996 is de kikker niet meer gezien en wordt het dier beschouwd als mogelijk uitgestorven.
