The larvae feed on Retama raetam.[2] They mine the stem of their host plant.

Phyllonorycter retamella is een vlinder uit de familie mineermotten (Gracillariidae). De wetenschappelijke naam is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1915 door Chretien.
