above 1800m in Mt Hermon one can find tragacanth vegetation, consisting of spiny chushion-like shrublet. Here u can see Acantholimon, which is famous in this growth-form, and below it emerging Genista libanotica.

Every year I get excited when looking at thes marvelous spiny cushions...

I was delighted to see an Acantholimon species at the other edge of the Irano-Turanian region.
