Anterior nostril pierced on front side of a flap; processus dentiformis present; shallow median notch in both upper and lower lips; lower jaw with a shallow notch; lateral line from complete to reaching only level of pelvic-fin origin; anus about 1-2 eye diameters in front of anal-fin origin; 8.5 branched dorsal-fin rays; 5.5 branched anal-fin rays; caudal fin emarginate, with 8+8 branched rays; axillary pelvic lobe present; body with 11-16 bars, wider than interspaces; a broad midlateral stripe superimposed on bars; in some specimens bars fainter, in other stripe very faint; black bar at caudal-fin base complete, usually quite faint, a small black spot at base of anterior dorsal rays (Ref. 36949).

Schistura fusinotata is a species of ray-finned fish in the stone loach genus Schistura. This species has been recorded from stretches of the main Kong River and its tributaries in Laos where there are substrates consisting of stones and large gravel.[1]
