Schistura chapaensis és una espècie de peix de la família dels balitòrids i de l'ordre dels cipriniformes.[5]

Les seues potencials amenaces podrien ésser els canvis antropogènics del seu hàbitat (com ara, la sedimentació causada per la desforestació).[11]
