Chromocrea substipitata Seaver, Mycoiogia 2: 59. 1910
Stromata gregarious or occasionally crowded, seated on a sulfur-yellow subiculum, discoid, fleshy, with the margin elevated from the substratum; young plants substipitate; stem short, about 1 mm. thick and 1-2 mm. high, gradually expanding upwards into the subpatellate stroma ; stroma plane to a little concave or convex, dull-yellow, slightly punctate with the darker necks, 1-4 mm. in diameter ; asci cylindric ; spores becoming smokybrown, 4 X 5/Ci in diameter.

Type locality : [Indian River,] Nicaragua. Distribution : Known only from the type locality.
