The wingspan is 20–22 mm. The forewings are coffee brown, nearly without markings. Adults have been recorded in July.

Stenoptilia convexa is een vlinder uit de familie van de vedermotten (Pterophoridae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1998 door Arenberger.
