Slender terrestrial, less than 40cm. Leaves along the stem, linear lanceolate. Largest leaves near the base, up to 15 cm, folded along the length. Inflorescence lax, many-flowered. Flowers white to pale pink with darker markings. The flowers contrasting with the deep reddish purple ovaries, pedicels and bracts.

Disa saxicola é uma espécie de orquídea geralmente terrestre pertencente à subtribo Disinae. Esta espécie é originária da Tamzânia à África do Sul.[1] Trata-se de planta com raízes tuberosas vilosas de poucas ramificações e caule sem ramificações nem pilosidades, com folhas geralmente anuais, inflorescência também sem ramificações, flores de sépala dorsal galeada e pétalas oblongas, labelo sem calcar, e coluna sem apêndices proeminentes, com duas polínias.[2]
