Die Adamaua-Turteltaube (Streptopelia hypopyrrha) ist ein Taubenvogel, der zu den Turteltauben gerechnet wird. Sie kommt nur in Afrika vor.
Der Artstatus der Adamaua-Turteltaube war lange Zeit umstritten. Sie wurde als Unterart der Trauerturteltaube eingeordnet.
Die Adamaua-Turteltaube erreicht eine Körperlänge von 28 Zentimetern und entspricht damit etwa der Größe einer Lachtaube.[1] Der Geschlechtsdimorphismus ist nur geringfügig ausgeprägt. Die Weibchen sind lediglich etwas matter als die Männchen gefärbt.
Der Kopf und der Hals sind dunkel blaugrau. Die Halsseiten weisen schwarze Flecken auf. Die Oberbrust ist gräulich blau. Die Unterbrust sowie der Bauch sind kräftig rötlichbraun. Der Rücken ist dunkel braungrau. Nahezu alle Körperfedern sind hell gesäumt. Die Handschwingen sind dunkel. Der Schnabel ist dunkelgrau und weist eine hellere Spitze auf. Die Iris ist orange. Der nackte Augenring ist purpurrot.
Die Adamaua-Turteltaube kommt nur auf den Hochplateaus von Bauchi in Nigeria, Ngaoundéré in Kamerun sowie im Südwesten des Tschad vor.[1] Sie ist ein Waldbewohner, kommt aber auch in offenen, mit Bäumen nur locker bewachsenen Regionen vor. Auch Kulturland wird von ihr besiedelt, wenn noch Baumbestand vorhanden ist.
Wie alle Turteltauben lebt die Adamaua-Turteltaube überwiegend von Sämereien, nach denen sie auf dem Boden sucht. Das Nest wird in Bäumen oder Sträuchern errichtet. Das Gelege besteht aus zwei Eiern.

The Adamawa turtle dove inhabits a range of habitats, from sea level to 1,200 m (3,900 ft), particularly forest edge, wooded ravines, gallery forest, suburban gardens and farmland. It is uncertain if the species is migratory, or possibly nomadic, as periods when the species is present in unexpected locations may simply reflect poor ornithological knowledge of the area.[2]
Little is known about its behaviour. It feeds on the ground on seeds, sometimes in flocks of up to 60 birds in the non-breeding season, and sometimes with other dove species. Breeding occurs at the end of the dry season. Males display to females through a display flight, with energetic flapping upwards followed by a slow glide down. Both parents build the flimsy nest, and the two eggs are white.[2]
The conservation status of the Adamawa turtle dove was assessed by BirdLife International in 2012. It is considered to be a species of least concern.[1]

Streptopelia hypopyrrha (лат. ) — птица из семейства голубиных, обитающая в Африке.
Длина тела составляет 28 см[1]. Половой диморфизм выражен незначительно. Оперение самок немного тусклее чем у самцов.
Голова и шея тёмного, голубовато-серого цвета. По бокам шеи имеются чёрные пятна. Верхняя часть груди серовато-синяя. Нижняя часть груди, а также брюхо рыжего цвета. Спина тёмного, серо-коричневого цвета. Почти все перья тела имеют светлую окантовку. Маховые перья тёмные. Клюв тёмно-серый с более светлой вершиной. Радужки оранжевые. Голое окологлазное кольцо пурпурного цвета.
Вид обитает только на плоскогорьях Джос в Нигерии, Нгаундере в Камеруне, а также на юго-западе Чада[1]. Живёт в лесах, а также на открытых, редколесных участках и в культурных ландшафтах при наличии деревьев.
Питается преимущественно семенами, ищет которые на земле.
Гнездо сооружается на деревьях или кустах. В кладке 2 яйца.
