Papilio machaon (Old World Swallowtail) is a species of swallowtail butterflies in the family swallowtail butterflies. They are native to the Palearctic and The Nearctic. They visit flowers of St John's-wort, European searocket, cream pincushions, and Purple Loosestrife. They are diurnal herbivores. They rely on flight to move around.
