Xanthoxalis vulcanicola (Dorm. Smith) Small
Oxalis vulcanicola Donn. Smith, Bot. Gaz. 23 : 241. 1897.
Stems herbaceous, 2-7 dm. long, spreading or creeping, pubescent, densely so and more or less shaggy near the ends ; leaflets bright-green, the blades cuneate to obovate, 8-35 mm. long, notched at the apex anil with the lobes directed forward, more or less pubescent, especially beneath ; peduncles longer than the leaves ; pedicels copiously pubescent; sepals 4.5-6 mm, long, linear-lanceolate; petals yellow and streaked with violet, about twice as long as the sepals ; filaments glabrous ; capsules oblong, about as long as the sepals.
Ty'PE locality' : Sitio Birris, Volcan Irazii, Costa Rica.
Distribution : Costa Rica.
