A less common and more hairy plant than Bougainvillea glabra Choisy, with softly pubescent parts. The bracts can be of various shades of red, purple, orange or white. Sometimes two colour types can be found on the same plant. The flowering is during the hot season and sporadic after periods of drought.

Branches and leaves densely pubescent; spines recurved. Leaves petiolate; leaf blade elliptic or ovate, base rotund. Bracts dark red or light purple-red, elliptic-ovate, 2.5-6.5 × 1.5-4 cm, base rotund to cordate. Perianth tube green, narrowly tubular, rounded, 1.6-2.4 cm, densely pubescent, apex 5-6-lobed, lobes spreading, yellow, 3.5-5 mm, hairs copious, spreading, to 1 mm. Stamens 8. Ovary stipitate. Fruit 1-1.5 cm, densely hairy. Fl. winter-spring.

High-climbing woody vine, much branched, armed with numerous spines, the branches
flexuous, grayish or reddish-brown, usually copiously fulvous-villous, sometimes glabrate, the spines stout, straight or curved, 4 cm. long or shorter; petioles one third as long as the blades or shorter; leaf blades broadly ovate to suborbicular or rounded-oval, 5-10 cm. long, 2.5-6.5 cm. wide, rounded to acutish at the base and often short-decurrent, abruptly acute or acuminate at the apex, usually densely villous beneath and sparsely short-villous on the upper surface, often glabrate in age; inflorescence 3-flowered, on a slender peduncle 6-17 mm. long; bracts purplish-red or rarely orange, ovate-oval or broadly ovate, 2-4.5 cm. long, 1.5-4 cm. wide, subcordate at the base, abruptly acute or acuminate or sometimes obtuse at the apex, sparsely puberulent or short-villous; perianth 1.5-3 cm. long, the tube green, densely shortvillous, the lower part not prominently angled, the limb 6-7 mm. wide, the lobes ovate-triangular, subobtuse, yellowish; stamens 7-10; fruit oblong-ellipsoid, 11-14 mm. long, 5 mm. in diameter, grayishgreen, densely short-villous.
Type locality: Brazil.
Distribution: Brazil; widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical America, and escaped from cultivation in Bermuda and probably elsewhere in the West Indies arid in Central America.

Bougainvillea spectabilis (lat. Bougainvillea spectabilis) — nyctaginaceae fəsiləsinin bugenvilleya cinsinə aid bitki növü.
Təbii yayılması
Vətəni Cənubi Amerikadır. Braziliyada geniş yayılmışdır. Qərbi Avropanın cənub rayonlarında bəzək bitkisi kimi məşhurdur. Qafqazın Qara dəniz sahillərində (Suxumi, Batumi), açıq şəraitdə, zədələnmiş halda qışlayır. Suxumi və Adlerdə tək-tək nümünələrinə təsadüf edilir.
Botaniki təsviri
Çox tez böyüyən liandır. Hündürlüyü 10 m-ə qədər olur. Çiçəkləri iri süpürgə şəklində birillik budaqlar üzərində əmələ gəlir. Budaqları əyilmiş tikanlara malikdir. Yarpaqları enli, yumurtaşəkilli, qaidəsi ürəkvari, sıx tüklü, 6-12 sm uzunluqdadır. Çiçəkaltlıqları ürəkvari sivriləşmiş, bənövşəyi, açıq çəhrayı, qırmızı və ya yaşılımtıl açıq çəhrayıdır. Çiçəkləri çiçəkaltlıqların qoltuğunda 2-3 ədəd yerləşmişdir.
Ekologiyası
Quru havaya və qaza davamsızdır. Şaxtadan çox əziyyət çəkir.
Azərbaycanda yayılması
Abşeronda mədəni şəraitdə becərilir.
İstifadəsi
Ən gözəl dekorativ bitkilərdəndir. Bugenvilleya Bakıda küləkdən mühafizə olunmuş yerlərdə, yarımkölgə şəraitin¬də yaşıllaşdırmada istifadə edilə bilər.

Bougainvillea spectabilis (Buguenvíl·lea o Buguenvíl·lea comú) és una planta enfiladissa de la família Nyctaginaceae. És endèmica de Brasil.
Descripció
És un arbust perenne, espinós, ramós, de creixement ràpid, pot arribar als 10 m; no s'enfila, es recolza, no compta amb circells. Fulles el·líptiques, de 10 cm de llarg, de base estreta y àpex agut, glabres o pubescents; hi ha varietats variegades. És caducifòlia en regions temperades, i perennifòlia en zones tropicals.
Floreix a la primavera,estiu, fins a la tardor. Per res destaquen les seves flors, sinó els seus esplendoroses bràctees, que envolten a les flors. Són de variats colors: blanc, rosa, carmí, morat, groc, beix, entre altres.
Requereix pH del terra entre 5,6-7,5.

特征
茎上具有弯刺,并密生绒毛。葉全緣,互生,呈廣卵形或橢圓狀披針形,长5-10公分。花期很长,温暖地区可长年开花,花位於大而且色彩鮮豔的包叶(花苞)之中,花朵较小,白色、黃色或黄绿色,三朵聚生,包叶是它的主要观赏部分。
