Leaf-blades ovate, oblong-ovate, oval, or suborbicular, 6-15 cm. long, rounded and notched and usually mucronate at the apex, glabrous or nearly so above, except near the base, closely pubescent beneath, rounded or subcordate at the base, short-petioled ; peduncles and pedicels densely or copiously pubescent ; sepals suborbicular or orbicular-reniform, 2.5-3 mm. long, the glands one half the length of the sepal-body or more; larger petals 10-12 mm. long ; samaras 2-2.5 cm. long, the ventral edge of the wing prolonged into an oblique auricle at the base.
Type locality : Tropical America. Distribution : Porto Rico.
