És un peix marí, d'aigua dolça i salabrosa; demersal; catàdrom[5] i de clima tropical (22°S-24°S).[6]

Es troba a Oceania: és un endemisme de Fiji.[6][7][8][9]
Observacions
És inofensiu per als humans.[6]

Vissen Mesopristes kneri is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van tijgerbaarzen (Terapontidae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1876 door Bleeker.
