Synchiropus stellatus Smith 1963

Die Sterretjie-drakie (Synchiropus stellatus) is 'n vis wat voorkom in die westelike Indiese Oseaan en aan die ooskus van Afrika vanaf Oman tot by die Protea-bank in die suide van KwaZulu-Natal. In Engels staan die vis bekend as die Starry dragonet.

Voorkoms

Die vis het twee dorsale vinne, die eerste met vier lang strale. Die bekken vinne is groot. Die lyf is bleek wit en met 'n pienk of ougoud skynsel. Daar is ry vlekke op die middel van die lyf met 'n ry klein rooi kolletjies onder die vlekke. Die vis word tot 7.5 cm lank.

Habitat

Die vis leef naby koraalriwwe op sanderige bodems in water wat nie dieper as 40 m is nie in groot groepe.

The starry dragonet (Synchiropus stellatus) is a species of dragonet native to the Indian Ocean where it is found at depths of around 40 metres (130 ft). It occasionally is found in the aquarium trade. It grows to a length of 7.5 centimetres (3.0 in) TL.^[1]

Tähtikokki (Synchiropus stellatus) on merikokkeihin kuuluva kala.

Koko ja ulkonäkö

Tähtikokki kasvaa noin seitsemänsenttiseksi. Sen vartalo on pyöreämuotoinen, valkeiden ja ruskeiden tähtimäisten kuvioiden peittämä.^[1] Koiraan värit ovat kirkkaammat ja selkäevän eturuoto pitempi kuin naaraalla^[2] Merikokkien leveä suu, monet ulokkeet ja varsinkin kutuasuisten koiraiden levittelemät viuhkamaiset evät ovat saaneet jotkut tutkijat näkemään yhdennäköisyyksiä mytologisten hirviöiden kanssa, ja niinpä heimon englanninkielinen nimi onkin nuorta lohikäärmettä tarkoittava dragonet.

Alkuperä

Tähtikokki elää luonnossa Intian valtameren länsiosassa, Afrikan ja Sri Lankan rannikoilla.^[1]

Käyttäytyminen

Tähtikokki tarvitsee rauhallisen akvaarion ja paljon piiloja. Se lähtee tyypillisesti liikkeelle illansuussa ja etsiskelee pikkueläimiä. Se näyttää leijuvan paikallaan helikopterin tavoin.

Ravinto

Tähtikokki syö vain itse pyydystämiään eläviä pieneliöitä. Siksi sitä voi pitää vain kypsässä riutta-akvaariossa.^[3]

Le Mandarin étoilé (Synchiropus stellatus) est une espèce de poisson de la famille des Callionymidés et appréciée en aquarium.

Il mesure 6 cm de long, et vit dans les rochers couvert d'algues entre les pâtés coralliens présent de l'Afrique de l'est à l'ouest du Pacifique jusqu'à la grande barrière de corail^[1].

Descrizione

Biologia

Corpo cilindrico rosa chiaro con macchie marrone rosato diffuse. Testa molto evidente come lo sono i bulbi oculari che sporgono al di sopra del capo. Questa caratteristica gli serve per facilitare l'insabbiamento notturno. Privo di squame e dotato di 2 pinne dorsali. Specie molto solitaria, il maschio accetta nel proprio territorio solo individui di sesso femminile. Passa le giornate sui fondali alla ricerca di piccoli crostacei ma senza danneggiare in nessun modo la barriera corallina.

Riproduzione

Il maschio è caratterizzato dal forte sviluppo della pinna dorsale anteriore che assume la forma di una sorta di stella decorata. L'accoppiamento dei pesci mandarino avviene di notte simile S. splendidus.

Acquariofilia

Pesce adatto alla vita di barriera corallina. È consigliabile inserirlo in vasche da tempo avviate in cui la microfauna è ben sviluppata. Non di semplice allevamento a causa della forte richiesta alimentare. Accetta anche cibo secco o congelato.
