Protomyctophum bolini (Fraser-Brunner 1949)

Oceanodromous. Migrating within oceans typically between spawning and different feeding areas, as tunas do. Migrations should be cyclical and predictable and cover more than 100 km.

High-oceanic and mesopelagic. Found between 608-728 m during the day and between 364-426 m at night (Ref. 4066). Feeds on copepods and larval stages of krilll, mainly calytopis and furcilia stages.
