Oviparous, paired eggs are laid mainly at night (Ref. 44760). Batches of eggs are laid in three to six-day interval on sand bottom. Embryos feed solely on yolk (Ref. 50449). Distinct pairing with embrace. Young may tend to follow large objects, such as their mother (Ref. 205).

體盤長佔全長57.7-58.3%,體盤寬60.0-68.1%。體盤長佔體盤寬約85.6-87.4%,頭長34.7-37.8%,吻長23.1-25.6%,兩眼眶之間的寬度6.9-7.3%,兩出水口間的寬度9.7-10.6%。吻尖;吻長為兩眼眶之間的寬度的三倍或者為吻尖端到第五對鰓裂距離的一半。腹鰭前緣短。尾長約為體盤寬2/3且超過第一背鰭起點但與吻長相等。公魚表皮多小刺,母魚較少,眼眶邊緣的刺約7-8根,項棘1根,出水口無刺;尾上刺10列,母魚則在中間列時有約14列。兩眼眶間有1-3根刺,尾部側邊的皺褶有暗刺。交接器中間有3個slit和1個spike

The ocellate spot skate (Okamejei kenojei), also known as the spiny rasp skate or swarthy skate,[2] is a species of skate in the family Rajidae and is commonly found in the north-western Pacific Ocean. O. kenojei is a bottom-feeding carnivore that consumes mainly shrimp, fishes, and crabs. Its diet also includes small quantities of amphipods, mysids, cephalopods, euphausiids, copepods, isopods, and polychaetes.[3]

Okamejei kenojei is een vissensoort uit de familie van de Rajidae.[2] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1841 door Müller & Henle.
Het is een soort die algemeen voorkomt in het noordwesten van de Grote Oceaan nabij Korea, China en Japan. Ze leeft op 20 tot 120 m diepte op zandige en modderige bodem. Volwassen dieren worden 55 à 60 cm lang.

Эти скаты откладывают яйца, заключённые в жёсткую роговую капсулу с выступами на концах. Длина капсулы 4,8—6,6 см, а ширина 2,9—3,7 см. Эмбрионы питаются исключительно желтком. Молодые скаты смеют тенденцию следовать за крупными объектами, напоминающими их мать[1]. Длина при вылуплении из капсулы 8,2—9,5 см. Самки достигают половой зрелости при длине около 39 см в возрасте 3 года. Продолжительность жизни в неволе до 9 лет, в дикой природе оценивается в 4 года и более. Беременность длится 128—146 дней при средней дневной температуре воды 14,6 °C и около 130 дней в неволе при температуре 14,0 °C. Самки откладывают яйца круглый год, кроме января, попеременно из левого и правого яичника с интервалом от 1 до 3 дней. Плодовитость в течение жизни составляет не менее 300 яиц и достигла у одной особи 600 яиц за четырехлетний период[3]. Эти скаты являются донными хищниками. Основу рациона составляют креветки по меньшей мере 22 видов. Кроме того, они питаются рыбой, например, сельдью, анчоусами, песчанками, лировыми, бычками, горбылями и скорпеновыми[5].
Взаимодействие с человеком
В корейских и японских водах, особенно в Жёлтом море, эти скаты являются объектом целевого промысла. Попадаются в качестве прилова в жаберные сети, донные тралы и ставные неводы. Пойманных скатов перерабатывают на рыбную муку. В Японии крылья используют в пищу. Данных для оценки Международным союзом охраны природы охранного статуса вида недостаточно[3].

홍어(魟魚, 상어가오리, 묵가오리[1], ocellate spot skate)는 홍어목 홍어과에 속하는 물고기이다.
특징
몸은 위아래로 납작하고, 가슴지느러미가 넓게 발달해 있어 위에서 보면 마름모꼴이다. 몸길이 약 150cm이다. 몸빛깔은 등쪽이 갈색이고 배쪽은 희거나 회색이다. 머리는 작으며 주둥이도 작으나 돌출되어 있다. 눈은 작고 분수공은 눈의 뒤쪽에 가깝게 붙어 있다. 몸의 등 중앙선에 많은 가시가 있고, 이빨은 작고 마름모꼴이다. 등지느러미는 두 개이나 몸 뒤쪽에 있고 모두 작다. 뒷지느러미는 없고 배지느러미는 있어도 아주 작다. 가슴지느러미의 기저면에 한 개의 검은 테를 가진 큰 반점이 있다. 난생이고 20-80m의 깊은 곳에 살며 봄에 산란한다.
이용
암모니아와 트리메틸아민의 함량이 높으며, 회·구이·국·포 등에 적합하다.[2] 다른 생선과는 달리 항아리에 짚, 소금 등을 함께 넣고 삭혀 먹으며, 삭히지 않고 그냥 먹는 경우도 있다. 가장 흔하게 볼 수 있는 모습은 홍어삼합이다. 삼합은 삭힌 홍어를 돼지 삽겹살 수육과 함께 묵은 김치에 싸먹는 것이다. 막걸리를 곁들여서 먹기도 하는데, 이를 '홍탁'이라고도 한다. 서양에서는 삶은 홍어를 헤이즐넛 버터, 파슬리, 레몬, 케이퍼를 곁들여 먹기도 한다. 암모니아 냄새가 나는 상태의 홍어는 상한 것으로 보아, 먹지 않는다.[3]가오리와 유사하지만 가격은 더 비싸서 가오리를 홍어라고 속여 파는 일도 생겨 국립과학수사연구원에서는 가오리를 홍어라고 속여 파는지 감별하는 방법도 개발했다.[4]
