Bronnen, noten en/of referenties

Mylothris er en artsrik slekt av dagaktive sommerfugler i gruppen hvitvinger.

Utseende

Middelsstore, hvite eller gule sommerfugler. Det er vanligvis noe gult i alle fall ved roten av vingene. Ytterkanten har gjerne mørke flekker.

Levevis

Larvene lever gjerne på planter i mistelteinfamilien (Loranthaceae), men det er også noen som går på slirekne (Polygonum) i syrefamilien. De fleste av artene lever i skog, men det er også noen som foretrekker åpne områder. Disse sommerfuglene er trolig giftige, fargemønstrene viser dette. Som mange andre giftige sommerfugler har de en langsom flukt.

Utbredelse

De lever i tropisk Afrika, også på Madagaskar og på Den arabiske halvøya.
