Females closely resemble moths of the genus Aletis, of which they might be mimics.
The larvae feed on Rinorea species.

Cymothoe haimodia is een vlinder uit de onderfamilie Limenitidinae van de familie Nymphalidae.[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1887 door Smith.
