Mycalesis rama, the Cingalese bushbrown, is a species of satyrine butterfly of family Nymphalidae.[1] It is a very shy animal, distributed in bamboo forests. It is endemic to Sri Lanka.[2]
Wingspan is about 56mm. Dorsal surface is dark brown with two eyespots at the sub marginal area. Lower eyespot is large, prominent and ringed with orange. Ventral surface is dull orange brown.[3] Larval host plants include Ochlandra stridula[4] and Bambusa species.[5]

Mycalesis rama is een vlinder uit de onderfamilie Satyrinae van de familie Nymphalidae.[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1892 door Frederic Moore.
