Trochilidae sunt familia avium ordinis Apodiformium, quae in America endemicae sunt. Inter minimas aves sunt, plurimis speciebus a 7.5 ad 13 centimetra longis. Minima species avium exstans est Mellisuga helenae, 5 centimetra longa et minus quam 2.0 grammata ponderis. Trochilidae sunt nectarivora.[1]
