Luisierella is a genus of mosses belonging to the family Timmiellaceae.^[1]

It was in the family Pottiaceae but due to molecular phylogenetic analysis in 2014, it was placed in Timmiellaceae.^[2]

The genus has almost cosmopolitan distribution,^[1] found in the United States, Mexico, West Indies, Central America, South America and in Asia.^[3]

The genus name of Luisierella is in honour of Alphonse Luisier (1872-1957), (Swiss born) Portuguese clergyman and botanist (Bryology).^[4]
