South-east Queensland, south through New South Wales and into mid-Victoria.The extent of occurrence of the species is approximately 620200 km2.

Often beneath debris at the edge of swamps and ponds.Breeding takes place in mid-winter and tadpoles take 11 – 12 weeks to develop.
