Lianes. Leaves opposite rarely ternate, with glands (in ours) near the apex of the petiole. Inflorescences of terminal racemes. Flowers actinomorphic. Sepals persistent, sometimes glandular. Petals yellow, unguiculate. Anthers linear. Fruit a samara, with
the wing divided into 5-7 stellately arranged lobes.
