Ascomata. Globose, sub-globose, or ellipsoidal, immersed or superficial, ostiolate, papillate, membranaceous, colourless, light brown or grayish-brown, solitary, 130-300 μm high, 170-325 μm diam.; peridium 12-16 μm thick, composed of elongated, thin-walled cells with large lumina, forming a textura angularis, merging into the pseudoparenchyma of the venter; necks 81-326 μm long, 36-80 μm diam., cylindrical, periphysate, brown at or below the tip; pseudoparenchyma of thin-walled, large, polygonal cells filling venter of young ascocarps, eventually breaking up into "catenophyses". Asci. Clavate, short pedunculate, 64-116 × 14-38 μm, 8-spored, unitunicate, thin-walled, except for a thick-walled area below the apex, flattened and refractive at the tip and provided with a simple pore, slightly narrower below the apex, rather persistent, even after ascospore release, developing at the base of the base of ascocarp venter. Ascospores. Ellipsoidal, aseptate, not narrower at septum, colourless, thick-walled, 21-37 × 7-15 μm, without appendages. Paraphyses. Not observed.
