Satyrium auretorum is resident in much of California (Scott 1986). Habitats are lowland chaparral and oak woodland. Host plants are trees restricted to a few species in family Fagaceae. Eggs are laid on the host stems singly. Individuals overwinter as eggs. There is one flight each year with the approximate flight time late May-July 15 (Scott 1986).
