Bothriochloa springfieldii growing at the base of a sandstone cliff. Also called Springfield's beardgrass. Distribution in Utah is mainly in the southeastern quarter of the state. Similar to B. barbinodis which has a somewhat similar county distribution in Utah but B. springfieldii differs in being shorter, and having more hairy/fuzzy nodes, shorter panicles and fewer branches per panicle.Sept 1, 2011, Colorado River drainage, Grand County, Utah, elev. about 3,990 ft.
