Please note that the true author of this species is Leandri though the plate claims the authors are "(Huruzawa) Ritagwa" [(Hurus.) Kitag.], a taxon with which is an illegitimate name and now treated as a synonym of Euphorbia esula var. cyparissioides found in European Russia to Northern China (see World Checklist of Selected Plant Families: Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
