Leaves have 3 leaflets with obvious veins. Stalks of the central leaflet are slightly longer than those of the lateral leaflets. Lower leaves have elliptical to ovate leaflets (usually 1-3 cm long), while leaflets of the upper leaves are narrower. Flowerheads are racemes with pink to purple pea-like flowers (to 8 mm long). Pods are straight, narrow, sparsely hairy and 15-25 mm long. Flowering is year-round. Found in moist, often shaded, areas of tall grasslands, woodlands and forests. Native biodiversity.
