Tephrocactus geometricus ist eine Pflanzenart der Gattung Tephrocactus aus der Familie der Kakteengewächse (Cactaceae).
Tephrocactus geometricus wächst locker verzweigt und wird bis zu 15 Zentimeter hoch. Die kugeligen, hellgrünen und manchmal purpurn überhauchten Triebsegmente sind flach gehöckert, ältere sind verkorkt und werden bis zu 3,5 Zentimeter im Durchmesser. Die Areolen sind bräunlich. Die schwarzen bis weißen Dornen sind pfriemlich, an den Trieben anliegend und 0,5 bis 1,0 Zentimeter lang. Sie stehen zu 3 bis 5 Stück pro Areole, an den unteren Areolen fehlen sie.
Die weißen Blüten sind bis 3 Zentimeter lang. Die trockenen und niedergedrückt kugeligen Früchte sind 1,5 bis 2,2 Zentimeter im Durchmesser.
Tephrocactus geometricus ist im Norden von Argentinien in der Provinz Catamarca in der Gegend von Fiambalá auf Schotterebenen und Hängen verbreitet.
Die Erstbeschreibung der Art erfolgte 1934 durch Alberto Castellanos als Opuntia geometrica. Bereits 1936 stellte Curt Backeberg die Art zur Gattung Tephrocactus.

Tephrocactus alexanderi is a species of cactus under the genus Tephrocactus. It is also classified under the subfamily Opuntioideae. It is native to Argentina Catamarca (Angostura de Guanchim and Tinogasta) and close to the Bolivian border, where it is exposed to extreme heat and an arid climate.[1] T. geometricus receives its name from the Greek word γεωμετρία (geometria), meaning geometry.
Tephrocactus alexanderi grows in globular lobes, which sprout from one another and form clumps.[1] The segments of the plant can be blue-green to purple with full sun exposure.[2] Spines are mostly not present, with some growing from the upper areoles. Flowers are light pink to white and have a darker midstrip.[2][1]

Tephrocactus geometricus crece débilmente ramificada y alcanza un tamaño de hasta 15 centímetros de altura. El tallo con tintes verdes y a veces purpúreas claras, tuberculado plano, las viejas están acorchadas y de hasta 3,5 centímetros de diámetro. Las areolas son de color marrón. Las espinas son de color blanco y negro, tumbadas y de 0,5 a 1,0 centímetros de largo, con de 3 a 5 piezas por areola, en las areolas más bajas que se están perdiendo. Las blancas flores son largas de 3 centímetros. Los frutos son secos y deprimidos globulares de 1.5 a 2.2 centímetros de diámetro.
