Stem 4 dm. high, or higher, apparently suff'rutescent, pubescent, at least above. Stipules lanceolate, acute; glands large, pointed, borne between the lower pair of leaflets, or about at the middle of the petiole (perhaps through the falling off of the lower pair of leaflets) ; leaflets 5-8 pairs, oblong, 4-6 cm. long, acute, apiculate, glabrate above, densely strigose beneath; racemes axillary, or above forming panicles; peduncles elongated, 5-10 cm. long; pedicels 10-15 mm. long, pubescent; sepals oblong, obtuse, 10-14 mm. long, the outer ones at first hairy, becoming glabrate; petals about 2 cm. long; anthers slender, beakless; legume linear, compressed, tapering at both ends, 6-7 cm. long, 5-6 mm. wide, sparingly pubescent.
