Asplenium nidus (Hawai'i Birdnest Fern) is a species of perennial herb in the family spleenworts. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Hawaii and Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 23 m. They have alternation of generations.
