Nephrolepis biserrata (Giant Swordfern) is a species of perennial herb in the family sword ferns. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Mata Atlântica, SãO Paulo, RondôNia, Pantanal, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Caatinga, Amapá, Piauí, The Contiguous United States, Acre (Brazil), Roraima, Paraná, Sergipe, Amazônia, Cerrado, Puerto Rico, Mato Grosso, Ceará, Maranhao, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Rio Grande Do Sul, ParaíBa, Pernambuco, Distrito Federal, U.S. Virgin Islands, Rio Grande Do Norte, Alagoas, Bahia, Rio De Janeiro, Pará, and Santa Catarina. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 14 m. They have alternation of generations.
