Parnassia palustris (Bog Star) is a species of perennial herb in the family Celastraceae. They are native to Canada, North America, The Contiguous United States, Alaska, and Asia. They have white flowers and loculicidal capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by European fire ant, Megaselia groenlandica, Helina annosa, and Cheilosia longula. Individuals can grow to 2.2 feet.
