Plants annual, 0.6-1 m. Stem prostrate or procumbent, sparsely strigose, with adventitious roots at nodes; branchlets erect or ascending, brown or purple-brown pubescent, densely so above. Leaves alternate; petiole 1-3 cm; leaf blade pale green abaxially, dark green adaxially, ovate or ovate-elliptic, 3-7 × 2-3.5 cm, membranous, with 2 or 3 pairs of stipitate glands at basal margin, abaxially pilose on veins, adaxially adpressed strigose, lateral veins 6 or 7 pairs, base broadly cuneate or subrounded, attenuate into petiole, margin crenate, teeth mucronulate, apex acute or shortly acuminate. Inflorescences in leaf axils of branchlets, 1-flowered. Pedicels 1.5-2.5 cm, slender, densely puberulent, bracteate at middle; bracts persistent, linear or subulate, very small, 1-2 mm. Flowers pink, large, 3.5-4 cm deep. Lateral sepals 2, broadly ovate, 8-10 × 5-6 mm, 6- or 7-veined, sparsely puberulent, apex mucronulate. Lower sepal broadly funnelform, gradually narrowed into an incurved spur ca. 2 cm; mouth vertical, ca. 2 cm wide, tip acuminate. Upper petal suborbicular, 1.5-1.6 cm in diam., apex emarginate, midvein abaxially narrowly carinate; lateral united petals ± clawed, 3.3-3.4 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes oblate, small, apex rounded; distal lobes dolabriform, apex obtuse; auricle inflexed, lunar. Filaments linear, 4-5 mm; anthers ovoid, apex obtuse. Ovary erect, linear, 4-5 mm. Capsule not seen. Fl. Nov.
