Plants annual, 15-30 cm tall, slender, with few supporting roots. Stem erect, simple, long naked basally. Leaves alternate; petiole 0.5-2.5 cm, glabrous; leaf blade gray-green abaxially, dark green adaxially, elliptic or ovate, 3-6 × 1.5-2.5 cm, abaxially glabrous, setose between teeth, adaxially white adpressed hairy, lateral veins 5 or 6 pairs, base narrowly cuneate or subrounded, margin shallowly crenate, apex acute. Inflorescences in upper leaf axils, 2-flowered; peduncles 1.5-2 cm, glabrous. Pedicels ca. 1 cm, slender, bracteate at base; bracts persistent, linear, ca. 2 mm. Flowers pink, ca. 3 cm deep. Lateral sepals 2, subulate-lanceolate, ca. 4 mm, apex shortly aristate. Lower sepal pink-white, navicular, base constricted into an erect spur ca. 1.5 cm. Upper petal pink, orbicular, ca. 1 cm in diam., apex emarginate, abaxial midvein thickened, narrowly cristate, crista ca. 1.5 mm high; lateral united petals pink, ca. 2.6 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes broadly obovate, ca. 1 cm, apex rounded; distal lobes ovate-dolabriform, ca. 1.8 cm, apex rounded; auricle inflexed, reniform. Filaments linear; anthers ovoid, apex obtuse. Ovary fusiform, glabrous. Capsule clavate, apex rostellate. Fl. Oct, fr. Nov.
